MOAB, UT.
Moab lies approximately 50 miles south of I-70, on Highway 191.  The setting of Moab is raw western beauty with many structures that have been well preserved. New structures, hotels & such fit well into the setting.
Within 10 miles of downtown Moab, one finds easy access to two National Parks, Arches and Canyonlands, several National Monuments, and several State Parks.  Moab has a year-round population of approximately 5,000 residents, but, because of the proximity of the natural wonders offered by Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, and four-wheeler desert access, Moab receives approximately 20,000,000 visitors per year.  There are few dull moments.  Quiet visits possible November through January.
Determination Towers just north-west of Moab.  Great but slightly strenuous hike through soft sand.
Potash Road on the north side of the Colorado River runs west from Hwy 191. River Road on the south side of the Colorado River runs east and west. Waterfalls appear during rainstorms.
